Romain VIDAL
Former Student MBA 2 HR Expert class of 2023

After earning my Baccalauréat in Economics and Social Sciences with a focus on Social and Political Sciences, I pursued a DUT in Administrative and Commercial Management of Organizations to gain exposure to every department (Marketing, Law, Accounting, Management, Communication…). Next, I enrolled in a Bachelor’s in Management and Engineering of Tourism Industries, at the end of which I completed an HR assistant internship with a hotel group. Finally, this successful experience inspired me to move on to an HR Master’s, the MBA in Human Resources Management and Development at Alternis.

My motivation to apply to Alternis stemmed first and foremost from the comprehensive and engaging program offered. Additionally, the school’s partnership with the Magellan Institute and the fact that the curriculum is delivered by active professionals immediately reassured me about its quality. Finally, the campus itself was very appealing: modern, new facilities; a location in a vibrant district conducive to student life; and close proximity to public transportation and the city center.

I served as a Recruitment Officer at a local IT services company, focusing on engineering positions. My responsibilities included sourcing candidates, conducting phone pre-qualifications, interviewing, presenting candidates to clients, and handling communication and campus relations.

Yes—from the moment I was accepted into the school until the signing of my work-study contract. I received valuable advice on perfecting my CV and cover letter, tips for succeeding in interviews, and assistance in finding a company through the school’s network.

The courses are fascinating, offering a comprehensive view of HR and covering every topic that could impact us in this field, including legal, technical, and social developments in human resources.

The instructors are professionals from diverse backgrounds—SMEs, large international groups, and various sectors (industry, services, healthcare, public…). They demonstrate pedagogy and kindness, which allowed me to learn, share, and grow. They are there to guide us into professional life, providing many keys to success for our future.

Today, I am an HR Manager within the Lactalis group, specifically at the Massegros cheese factory in Lozère (48).

On a daily basis, I support managers in the HR management of their teams and departments (production, packaging, laboratory, logistics, and the store). I also accompany employees from onboarding to departure. More specifically, I handle payroll, recruitment of workers/employees/interns/work-study students, internal communication, HR project management, personnel administration, and maintaining employee files throughout their career.

I met wonderful people, made friends, and connected with outstanding instructors who are now part of my network. And of course, the teaching team listened to us and supported us closely, which gave us a fulfilling student life. The facilities are very pleasant, the school’s location is convenient—everything is nearby—allowing me to enjoy an active and enjoyable student experience. The school’s size fosters a friendly, family-like atmosphere of sharing. It’s a place where you can be yourself, express yourself, share, learn, grow, and have fun. I’m proud of my time at Alternis and wish all future students an experience as rich as mine.

Invest time in finding a work-study placement that suits you, engage fully in your courses, and don’t hesitate to share your experience and learn from others. All the work required by the HR program will broaden your mindset, knowledge, and culture to tackle current and future professional challenges. Finally, feel free to reach out to Alumni with any professional or personal questions—we’ll be happy to connect with you.

Beverly FAIVRE
Former student MBA 2 – HR Expert Class of 2024

In 2020, I earned a Master’s in Organizational Management at the IAE of Versailles–Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines through a work-study arrangement, which I completed at the Orange group as a Project Development Officer specializing in Start-ups. Then I worked for three years as a business creation consultant for Air France.

Having newly arrived in Bordeaux, I chose to return to academia and pursue an MBA in Human Resources Expertise at Alternis Business School.

I chose Alternis Business School for several reasons. First, I found all the information I needed on their website during my school search (program details, admission process, commission dates…). Second, after submitting an inquiry, I was contacted back within minutes—even late in the day—and was guided through each step of the application process. Third, my request to return to study was well received, and a personalized solution was offered. And finally, the curriculum is deeply focused on HR topics, each covered in great depth.

During my work-study, I served as HR Manager at the Ministry of the Armed Forces, responsible for both civilian and military personnel.

I did not need help because I had already secured a host organization. However, the teaching team remained very attentive, available, and closely followed my integration.

The instructors are not just academics; they are also professionals—employees or entrepreneurs. Their teaching, sharing, and experiences are extremely valuable.

The courses are well-prepared and structured, and the assessments closely mirror real-world scenarios, which promotes practical application in the workplace.

I am currently seeking an HR position in Bordeaux.

What I carry away from Alternis can be summed up in three words: kindness, excellence, and sharing.

Indeed, my journey at Alternis was ideal: a teaching team that elevates you and instills confidence, year-round activities that offer breaks between classes, and very pleasant facilities that encourage work.

Regarding academics, I would say that a Master’s degree has become essential, even in Human Resources. The courses provide the solid foundation needed to progress. Two years go by quickly, and it will open up more ambitious opportunities.

As for work-study, in my opinion it’s the best way to combine theory and practice—opt for this format. Some tips for finding a work-study placement:

  1. Always have an up-to-date digital CV on hand
  2. Don’t hesitate to tap into your network (friends, family, former colleagues, acquaintances…).
  3. Don’t close doors if you don’t meet every requirement; recruiters first look for the right mindset
