In recent years, the strong growth in the specialized higher education sector for work-study programs has led some institutions to primarily emphasize the professional dimension of their programs, thereby neglecting a theoretical part that is fundamental to the proper development of the student. It is in this context of an educational jungle that Le Vino Institute by Alternis was born. Returning to the fundamentals by finding a perfect balance between pedagogy and professionalization is, in our eyes, the best possible alternative for our future students.
Thus, our students will benefit from small classes with instructors who are among the leading specialists in their industry. From sommellerie to international export, our entire faculty works/intervenes in parallel for estates or companies that are leaders in their field.
“Best young sommelier of France 1984”, “Best sommelier of France 1988”, “Best Sommelier of the World in 1992”, holder of the MOF competition Honoris Causa medal, founder of the Bistrot du Sommelier, former sommelier of the CONCORDE and of the airline AIR FRANCE… Here are “a few” distinctions and achievements from a very long list to present the prestigious figure of our establishment and program director: PHILIPPE FAURE-BRAC.
It is with great ambitions for the Vino Institute and its learners that Mr. FAURE-BRAC will also be involved internally in our sommelier courses.
Located a 5-minute walk from the Cité du Vin and at the heart of the Bassins à Flot district in Bordeaux, Le Vino Institute by Alternis allows its students to benefit from a work environment close to the key economic players in the wine industry.
The main recognized strength of the Alternis group to date is the individual and personalized support for each of our students, from their application and search for a work-study position to the smooth running of their academic year.
